A tyre recyclers point of view with regard to the recent discovery of dumped tyres in Crofthandy Shaft near Reduth.

Fly Tipping - Redruth Cornwall

The increase in Fly tipping in Cornwall, whether it's general building waste, tyres or household objects, shows the total lack of respect and consideration the offenders have, not only for the environment but for the people who live in Cornwall.

Most of us try hard to decrease our impact on the Environment by recycling conscientiously, even if this means paying a recycling fee.  Surely it's better to pay the fee and do our best to make our small corner of the world a better, safer and more beautiful place.  Recycling tyres and reclaiming 100% of the waste is not a cheap or easy practise but we have dedicated over 16 years to doing just that. S W Tyre & Rubber Recyclers have prevented thousands of tonnes of waste tyres and other industrial rubber from going into landfill, being fly tipped or baled and buried.  These tyres have been processed at our site in St Erth into safe, useable products.

We operate under very strict Environment Agency Legislation which enables us to maintain our license and continue to provide a valuable service to our customers and the environment.   We would like to take this opportunity to thank our many loyal customers who recognise this service and have continued to support us throughout the years.  Particular thanks to Malcolm Drew Ltd in St Day and MJB tyres Hayle, Redruth and Newquay, with whom we have a much valued working relationship, long may that continue.
